Introduction

The Eastern Division HQ is stationed at Dhankuta. Its AOR consists of the entire Eastern Development Region. The AOR of this Division is 28,456 sq km. The Divisional AOR consists of 16 Districts. The population of the AOR of Eastern Division is 5,34,476 and the literacy rate is 49.4%. The major ethnic group of the area are the Kirats which includes the Rais, Limbus, Yakhas and Lepchas.
