“Short Film Competition” organized by the Nepalese Army concluded on May 16, 2013 amid a special function organised at the Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali.

Chief Guest, Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Gaurav SJB Rana, gave away cash prizes and certificates to the best five contestants and certificates to all the participants. Subash Singh Basnyat’s "2 Kg 2 Inch" received the first prize of NRs 1,50,000 for being the best film of the competition. Similarly, "The Blood" of Movie & More Pvt Ltd. and "Bir Rashyak"(वीर रक्षक) of Chandra Man Dongol received NRs 1,00,000 and NRs 50,000 respectively. Dr. Om Bir Singh Basnet’s “Gaurav”(गौरव) and Hive Animation Studio’s “Bulo Kachi”(बुलो खची)got consolation prizes of NRs 10,000 each.
 
General Rana also felicitated the judges of the competition with certificates and letters of
appreciation. The jury members included Senior Director Narayan Puri,
Director Akash Adhikari, Senior Cinematographer Baikuntha M. Maskey, Senior Cinematographer Uttam Silwal, T/Lt Col Ishwor Kumar Shrestha, Major Saroj Kumar Adhikari and T/Lt Santosh Panta.

Out of 18 short films based on the theme “Nepaliharuko Sajha Shakti abam Sampati- Nepali Sena”(नेपालीहरुको साझा शक्ति एवं सम्पत्ति–नेपाली सेना), five films were selected from initial screening. The best five were again evaluated by the jury to finalize the result.
On the occasion, General Rana presented cash prizes and certificates to the best writers of “Sipahi 2069", the Nepalese Army annual journal. Major Ranjit Thapa’s "Dynamics of Professionalism,Leadership and Civil-Military Relation" bagged the first prize. Likewise, Lt Col Bhuwan Khatri’s “नेपाल भारत सिमानाको ऐतिहासिक, सैदान्तिक तथा प्राविधिक पक्षहरु र यी दुई देश बीच रहेको खुल्ला सिमानाबाट सिर्जिएका असरहरु” and Col Dipak Prasad Bastola’s “Nepal Army in Disaster Management” stood second & third respectively.
 
High ranking officials of Nepal Army, celebrities of Nepali film industry and participants of the film competition attended the program.
