ATAL BHAKTI DESH PRATI
The Mid Divisional Headquarter, with the motto, "Atal Bhakti Desh Prati” was established on November 16, 2004 (Marga 01, 2061) at Hetauda. Maj Gen Thakur Subba was the first General Officer Commanding (GOC) of this division and Major General Homnath Dawadi is the present GOC.
The successive GOC of this division were Maj Gen Toran Jung Bdr. Singh (Retd.), Maj Gen Netra Bdr Thapa (Retd.), Maj Gen Pawan Bdr Pandé (Retd.), Maj Gen Rajendra Chhetri, Maj Gen Sundar Pudasaini (Retd.), Maj Gen Dev Kumar Subedi, Maj Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma and Maj Gen Subarna Bahadur Shah .
Biography of Major General Homnath Dawadi
Major General Homnath Dawadi, ndc, psc, MA, an alumnus of the Nepali Military Academy, was commissioned into the Nepali Army in October 1989. He took over the command of the Mid Div on 15th September 2022.
Major General Dawadi’s selfless service, sincere devotion, and commitment to excellence are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect distinct credit upon himself and the Nepali Army.
Over 34 years of his illustrious career, his roles have been diverse and dignified. He has distinguished himself by an exceptional meritorious service both during peace and conflict, at home and abroad. The Major General has wide-ranging experience of various high-profile command, staff, and instructional appointments. He has commanded engineer field companies, engineer battalion and infantry brigades under most challenging circumstances.
His significant responsibilities at Army Headquarters include the Director of Garrison, Director of National Park and Wildlife Reserve, Director of Inspection General and Head of Department Inspection General.
The Major General Officer’s prestigious overseas appointments include; Engineer Platoon Commander in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in 1993, Observer in Ethiopia (UNMEE) in 2004 and SO Head Military Operations (MOC) in Haiti (MINUSTAH) in 2010.
A graduate of Army Command and Staff College, Nepal and National Defence College, Bangladesh, Major General Dawadi, throughout his exemplary career, has demonstrated dynamic leadership, outstanding professionalism.
Major General Dawadi is married to Mrs. Jyoti Dawadi, and the couple is blessed with one son and one daughter, Jyohomson and Jyotsna. An avid reader and a keen sportsman, he loves to play games and likes to travel in his leisure time.
