Nepalese Army Sergeant Shines in International Marathon

1. Sergeant Bikash Shahi of Nepalese Army stood winner in Inter-Lebanon Road Running at Beirut in Lebanon on 27 March 2011. 2. Sgt. Shahi, a peace trooper, participating in United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) clinched the title by clocking 2:40:42 in the 42.195 km run. A total of 140 athletes from 7 different countries had participated in the marathon. Athlete from Lebanon and Indonesia managed second and third position respectively. 3. Sgt. Shahi bagged USD 1,500 as cash award along with a trophy and also got an opportunity to participate in the Green Marathon to be held in Germany on behalf of Inter-Lebanon Road Running and Athletics Club.
