'Professional Competition - 2070/71'

A challenging and rewarding military skills competition, 'Professional Competion-2070/71', the aim of which was to enhance professionalism and military excellence among the troops in the field, was conducted from December 16, 2013 (Paush 01, 2070 B.S.) to May 17, 2014 (Jestha 03, 2071 B.S.). The competition featured a platoon each from all infantry battalions, independent companies and air defence batteries of the Nepalese Army.

Altogether 55 infantry battalions and 25 independent companies from all six divisional headquarters participated in the competition. Out of which, 15 infantry battalions and 5 independent companies were selected for 'Ex-Kurukshetra', the final event of the competition. Similarly, a total of 8 air defence batteries, under the Directorate of Air Defence, had also partaken in the competition.

The biennial competition criteria were physical fitness tests, land navigation, basic tactics, ceremonial drills and shooting. The competition stressed on teamwork as a fundamental and essential element.
