Ser No. 22 Command and Staff Course Concludes

<p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: 20px; text-align: justify; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><strong><u></u></strong></p><p class="imgbox2" style="margin-left: 10px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); line-height: 20px; text-align: justify;"><img src="http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/newsimages/scc_20160217-1.jpg" width="378" height="299">&nbsp;<img src="http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/newsimages/scc_20160217-2.jpg" width="379" height="299"></p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">The graduation ceremony of Serial No. 22 Command and Staff Course was held at Army Command and Staff College, Tokha, amid a special function on February 17, 2016.</p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">The course which started on April 16, 2015 had altogether 51 student officers. Of the total, there were 39 Majors and 3 Captains from Nepalese Army, 2 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs) from Armed Police Force, 1 DSP from Nepal Police and 1 Chief Investigation Officer from National Investigation Department. The course was also completed by five foreign army officers, including one each from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.</p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Chief Guest of the graduation ceremony, COAS General Rajendra Chhetri awarded the "Best Student Award" to Major Basanta Gautam and "PSC" (Passed Staff College) certificates to all the graduating officers. Similarly, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Tirth Raj Khaniya awarded the certificates to all graduating students from the Masters in Strategic Studies (MSS) Programme. Prof. Khaniya&nbsp;also gave away the certificate to Major Surya Bahadur Thapa for topping the MSS programme. Similarly, Commandant of Army Command and Staff College, Major General Jagadish Pokharel gave away the certificate and cash prize to Major Saroj Rana for securing first place in the "Commandant’s Paper".</p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);"><img src="http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/newsimages/scc_20160217-3.jpg" width="263" height="189">&nbsp;<img src="http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/newsimages/scc_20160217-4.jpg" width="254" height="186">&nbsp;<img src="http://www.nepalarmy.mil.np/newsimages/scc_20160217-5.jpg" width="238" height="188"></p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">COAS Chhetri said that the ever changing security environment has become more volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous in the characteristics and forms of warfare. So the challenges posed by these factors must be mitigated with the devotion and diligence towards the nation and the people with fine sense of situational awareness and meticulously planning for the effective deployment, employment and practical administration of troops.</p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">COAS Chhetri believed that the mid-level training conducted by the college have enhanced the professional skills, theoretical &amp; practical knowledge on International Security, International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights and sharing of experiences between the domestic and foreign students officers. &nbsp;He emphasized on the ethos, core values and guiding principles to be followed during the course of carrying out the duties.</p><p class="newstxt" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); margin-right: 30px; margin-left: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">He also expressed great pleasure on the hard-work put by the student officers during the course and thanked all the concerned faculty members, Ministries, Guest Lecturers and families of the students for their support and assistance.
