Short Film Competition 2072 Concludes

<p style="text-align: justify; margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">The “Short Film Competition 2072” organized&nbsp;by the Nepalese Army concluded amid a special function organized at the Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali on May 30, 2016.</p><p align="justify" style="margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">Chief Guest Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri gave away cash prizes and&nbsp;certificates to the best five contestants and certificates to all the&nbsp;participants. Devendra Pandey's&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"Rastrako Paharedar"</strong>bagged the first prize of NRs 1,50,000 for being the best film of the competition. &nbsp;Similarly,&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"Lakshya Jindagi Ko"</strong>of Suraj Poudel and&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"Naya Ghar"</strong>&nbsp;of Pratish Shrestha received NRs 1,00,000 and NRs 50,000 respectively. Likewise, Devin Rai's&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"Sipahi"</strong>&nbsp;and Bibek Poudel's&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">&nbsp;"Adahaya"</strong>&nbsp;got the consolation prizes of NRs 10,000.</p><p style="text-align: justify; margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">Out of 23 short films, five films were selected&nbsp;from initial screening. The best five were again evaluated by the jury to finalize the result.</p><p style="text-align: justify; margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">On the occasion, COAS Chhetri also presented cash prizes and certificates to the best writers of&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">“Sipahi&nbsp;Barsik 2072"</strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"The Shivapuri 2015”</strong>&nbsp;(17th edition), the Nepalese Army annual journals. Lt Col Ranjit Thapa's "<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">A thin Grey Line: Exploring the dynamics of strategy, military and history in the the present context"</strong>&nbsp;published in the Sipahi Annual 2072 bagged the first prize to receive NRs 50,000. Likewise, Prof. Dr. Rabindra Khanal's<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">"National Security"</strong>&nbsp;published in the Shivapuri Journal received NRs 25,000 and Brig Gen Gaurav Tandul’s “A critical Analysis of Human Trafficking in Nepal: A study of Citizen's Security” published in the Shivapuri Journal received NRs 15,000 for being second &amp; third respectively.</p><p style="text-align: justify; margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">COAS Chhetri also felicitated the&nbsp;judges of the competition with certificates and letters of&nbsp;appreciation.</p><p align="justify" style="margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">The various Radio Stations and Television Channels broadcasting the Nepalese Army Radio Programme and fortnightly programme "<strong style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">Matole Magdaina Afai Dinu Parcha</strong>" free of cost are also to be felicitated with the Letter of Appreciation. Altogether 140 Radio Stations and 37 Televisions across the country have been broadcasting the Army Programmes which have boosted the image of the Nepalese Army in the general public.</p><p align="justify" style="margin: 0px; padding: 7px 0px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-size: medium;">High ranking officials of Nepalese Army,&nbsp;Acting Defense Secretary, senior media persons, celebrities of Nepalese Cinema industry and participants of the film&nbsp;competition were also present during the ceremony.</p>
