COAS Gen Chhetri Departs for Bangladesh

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri departed for People's Republic of Bangladesh on the official invitation of Chief of Army Staff (CAS) General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, ndc, psc, Bangledesh Army on November 15, 2016.

Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt Gen Baldev Raj Mahat bade farewell to COAS Gen Chhetri at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Prior to his departure to Bangladesh, COAS Gen Chhetri was accorded a Guard of Honor from a troop of Nepalese Army at TIA. Generals of Nepalese Army, First Secretary, Embassy of Bangladeshi in Nepal, high ranking officers of Nepalese Army and residential Defense Attaches were present during the occasion.

  

During his six-day stay in Bangladesh, COAS Gen Chhetri will meet Right Honourable President of Bangladesh and Bangladeshi Army Chief in separate meetings. COAS Gen Chhetri is also scheduled to visit National Defense Collage of Bangladesh and other military formations and installations during his visit.

CGS Lt Gen Baldev Raj Mahat will act as the officiating Army Chief during the absence of COAS Gen Chhetri.

Ending his visit, COAS Gen Chhetri will return home on November 20, 2016.
