"COAS 2nd National Men's Volleyball Tournament" Kicks Off

<div>"COAS 2nd National Men's Volley Tournament" kicked off at Nepalese Army Physical Training and Sports Center (APTSC), Lagankhel on January 22, 2017. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri inaugurated the tournament amid a special programme.</div><div><br></div><div>The National &nbsp;level Volleybvall competition organized by Nepalese Army in technical assistance from All Nepal Volleyball Association includes three departmental and five regional teams.The participating teams are Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC), Nepal Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal Police Club, Eastern region, Mid-Western region, Western region, Central region and Far Western region.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;In the opening match of the tournament, Nepal Police Club defeated Mid region (25-10, 25-17, 25-19) . Likewisw, in other games of the day, Western region defeated Far-western region (25-16, 16-25, 26-28, 18-25), &nbsp;TAC defeated APF (25-15, 25-19, 25-20) and Eastern region defeated Mid-Western region (25-17, 25-14, 25-16).</div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</div><div>In the league-cum-knockout tournament, sponsered by Nepal Investment Bank, the champion team will bag three lakhs rupees (NPR 3,00,000), the first runners up and the second runner up team will receive one lakh fifty thousand rupees (NPR 1,50,000)and seventy five thousand rupees (NPR 50,000) respectively.</div><div><br></div><div>The best players in each category (Spiker, Blocker, Defender, Lifter and Coach) will be awarded with ten thousand rupees each. Most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament will get a Bajaj Motorcycle; sponsored by the Golcha Organisation.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Earlier today, during the opening ceremony, COAS Gen Chhetri unveiled the &nbsp;the " Abhilekh Tatha Khelkud Pustika" , which was prepared archiving &nbsp;the contribution made by NA Sports Personalities &nbsp;and their achievements.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>&nbsp;Chief of APF, General Officers of NA, high ranking officials of other security forces, officials of All Nepal Volleyball Association, NA officers, representative of Nepal Investment Bank and Golcha Organisation, media personnel and enthusiastic sports lovers were present during the opening ceremony.</div><div><br></div>
