Ser. No. 55 Cadet Passing Out Parade

<div>Right Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal conferred rank insignia of Second Lieutenant to newly commissioned officer cadets of Ser. No. 55 Officer Cadet Basic Course and Ser. No. 45 J/NCO Officer Cadet Basic Course amidst a special function held at Nepalese Military Academy, Kharipati, Bhaktapur on April 12, 2017.</div><div><br></div><div>Officer Cadet Dipendra Baral of the Ser. No. 55 Officer Cadet Basic Course and J/NCO Cadet Amit Lama of Ser. No. 45 J/NCO Officer Cadet Basic Course were awarded the "Sword of Honour" for standing first in the respective courses. Likewise, Officer Cadet Karishma Pradhan Kumal was awarded with "Cane of Honour" for being the Best Women Officer Cadet while Officer Cadet M.D. Manirujmaan Palash of Bangladesh was awarded the "Khukuri of Honour" among the international cadets.</div><div><br></div><div>Rt Hon Prime Minister Dahal congratulated the newly commissioned officers for being the part of the institution that is responsible for safeguarding nationality, territorial integrity, sovereignty and constitution of Nepal. He believed that the knowledge, skill and practice acquired during the rigorous training will help them to be dedicated and loyal to the people and the country. The prime minister also praised the role of Nepalese Army (NA) in international peace through its active participation in United Nations peacekeeping missions around the globe. He also thanked all the stakeholders involved in making the training successful.</div><div><br></div><div>All together 131 officer cadets including 12 female officer cadets, 101 male officer cadets, 18 J/NCO officer cadets and 2 foreign officer cadets (One each from Bangladesh and Kenya) graduated from the Course.</div><div><br></div><div>Present on the occasion were the Hon Defense Minister Balkrishna Khand, Chief of the Army Staff General Rajendra Chhetri, Defense Secretary Shreedhar Sapkota, former army chiefs, high ranking officers of sister security organizations, serving and retired Generals of NA, residential Defense Attaches of foreign diplomatic missions based in Kathmandu, former Commandants of the Academy, and families of the newly commissioned officers along with the media personnel.</div>
