S.N. 24 Command and Staff Course Graduation Ceremony Held

The Graduation Ceremony of the S.N. 24 Command and Staff Course was held at the Army Command and Staff College (ACSC), Shivapuri on February 21, 2018. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri graced the occasion as the chief guest.

A total of 58 officers including 44 officers from Nepali Army (NA), 10 international officers one each from Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Malaysia, Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka, USA and two officers from China, two officers from Armed Police Force and one each officer from Nepal Police and National Investigation Department sgraduated successfully.

Commandant of Army Command and Staff College, Major General Pralhad Thapa while delivering the welcome speech congratulated the graduating student officers and thanked all the stakeholders involved in conducting the course successfully.

The Chief Guest, COAS General Chhetri awarded the certificates to the graduating officers. Major Suman Thapa bagged the “Best Student award” and also stood first in Masters in Strategic Studies (MSS). The Command and Staff Collage is accredited to the Tribhuvan University and all Officers who fulfil the required criteria are awarded with a Masters Degree in Strategic Studies (MSS). Vice Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Tirtharaj Khaniya gave away the certificates of Master’s Degree to the graduates. Major Madhav Thapa of Nepali Army and Major Mohammad Harunor Rashid Khan of Bangladesh Army were jointly declared the 'Best Students in Commandant's Paper'.

COAS General Chhetri, while addressing the graduates, congratulated the student officers and their spouses for marking the successful completion of intense learning program of 45 weeks. He also praised the commitment of the Commandant and the entire faculty members for making the program successful.

COAS General Chhetri expressed his confidence that the knowledge and skills the student officers have gained will help to maintain constancy in mind, persistency in purpose, and simplicity in decision making. He further added "I am fully confident that the skills of critical thinking and creative reasoning which you have learned here will help you to further shape your professional skills and attitude."

Present at the graduation ceremony were Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Ambassadors of China and South Korea to Nepal, Military Attaché of foreign embassies, Ex- Generals of NA, Inspector General of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, Officials of Nepal Administrative Staff College, Professors, Generals and officers of NA and spouses of graduating officers among others.
