COAS Gen Chhetri returns from Pakistan

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri concluded his Pakistan visit and return home on Friday (May 18, 2018). Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa welcomed him at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A troop of NA presented the 'Guard of Honour' to COAS Gen Chhetri after his arrival. Generals, His Excellency Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal and high ranking officers of the Nepali Army (NA) and Defense Attachés of foreign nations in Nepal were also present on the occasion.

During his stay in Pakistan, COAS Gen Chhetri paid a courtesy call on Right Honorable Prime Minister and Defence Minister of Pakistan in separate meetings. Similarly, COAS Gen Chhetri also met General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Pakistan Armed Forces and General Qamar Javed Bajwa, COAS Pakistan Army separately. Likewise, COAS Gen Chhetri also visited and observed the Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) during his three-day visit.

COAS Gen Chhetri left for Pakistan on May 14, 2018 at an official invitation extended by General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Pakistan Armed Forces. COAS Gen Chhetri was accompanied by Chief of Staff (COS) Lieutenant General Hemanta Raj Kunwar.
