COAS Gen Chhetri returns from India

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Rajendra Chhetri concluded his India visit and returned home on Monday (June 11, 2018). Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa welcomed him at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). A troop of NA presented the 'Guard of Honour' to COAS Gen Chhetri after his arrival. General officers of Nepali Army, representative of Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, high ranking officers of the Nepali Army (NA) and Defense Attachés of foreign nations in Nepal were also present on the occasion.

During his India visit, COAS General Chhetri, who is also the Honorary General of the Indian Army, attended the Officer Cadet's 'Passing Out Parade' as Chief Reviewing officer at Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun on June 09, 2018.

During his stay in India, COAS Gen Chhetri paid a courtesy call on Ms Nirmala Sitharaman, Honorable Defence Minister of India. Similarly, COAS Gen Chhetri had separate meetings with Mr. Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor of India, Mr. Sanjay Mitra, Defense Secretary, General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army, and Vice Admiral Ajit Kumar P, Vice Chief of Naval Staff.

COAS Gen Chhetri left for India on June 06, 2018 at an official invitation extended by his Indian counterpart General Bipin Rawat, COAS Indian Army.
