Nepali Army (NA) completed the "Janata Awash Reconstruction Program" in storm-hit Bara and Parsa District which were hit hard by natural calamity on March 31, 2019. In the presence of the Chief Guest Honorable Mr. Ishwar Pokhrel, Officiating Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Honorable Lalbabu Rawat, Chief Minister Province 2, distribute the 'House Handover Certificates' to the heads of the respective local levels of affected Bara and Parsa District during a 'Closing & Handing-over' ceremony organized in Birjung.
'Janata Aawas Construction Taskforce' led by Nepali Army has completed the reconstruction of 869 houses in the affected Bara and Parsa districts after the Government of Nepal (GoN) had given the responsibility of rebuilding the houses for the storm-affected families to the Nepali Army. The Taskforce started the reconstruction on the ground from May 19, 2019 (Jestha 05, 2076), in three stages by dividing the affected districts into 12 clusters.
Honorable Members of House of Representative, Honorable Members of National Assembly, Honorable Members of Provincial Assembly, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Defence Secretary, Secretaries of GoN, General Officers of NA, Mayors of Metropolitan/Sub-Metropolitan Cities, Heads of Rural Municipality, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Bara and Parsa District, Heads of the various Government Offices and Media Personnel among others were present during 'Closing & Handing-over' ceremony.
