3rd  COAS Int'l Tri-Adventure Competition-2076  Held

‘3rd COAS Int'l Tri-Adventure Competition-2076’, a one-day event, was held in Charaudi, Dhading District on September 18, 2019. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa graced the event as the Chief Guest.

The fun-filled team competition included three events: running (6.7 km), cycling (26 km) and rafting (11 km) - totalling a distance of 43.7 km. A total of 15 teams participated in the event including 10 National teams (7 male teams and 3 female teams) and 5 International teams (2 teams from India and one each from Bangladesh, Maldives and Sri Lanka). Each registered team included four team members.

In the Men's Category, Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) Team ‘A’ finished first with a timing of 2 hours 20 minutes and 48 seconds. Indian Army Team 'A' stood second by completing the race in 2 hours 25 minutes and 32 seconds ahead of Indian Army Team 'B', which grabbed the third position with timing of 2 hours 26 minutes and 15 seconds.

In the Women's Category, NTA Team 'N' grabbed the first position with a timing of 3 hours 18 minutes and 20 seconds. Paddle Nepal Team ‘P’ stood second by completing the race in 4 hours 14 minutes and 50 seconds.

Indian Army Team 'A' was awarded as the 'Best International Team'. COAS General Thapa handed over the winner’s trophy, individual medallions and a cheque of NRs 1,50,000 to the champion TAC ‘A’, NRs 1,00,000 to first-runner up Indian Army Team 'A' and NRs 75,000 to second runner-up Indian Army Team 'B' in the Men's category. He also presented a cheque of NRs 50,000 to the champion NTA Team 'N' and NRs 30,000 to first-runner up Paddle Nepal Team ‘P’ in the Women's category.

Similarly, Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lieutenant General Sarad Kumar Giri awarded 'Medals and Certificates' to all the participants. Likewise, Chief of Staff (COS) Lieutenant General Gaurav Tandul handed over the 'Certificates of Appreciation' to the organizers.

The Tri-Adventure Competition started from Baireni to end at the banks of Trisuli River at Charundi where the closing ceremony of the event took place.

Present on the occasion were General officers of Nepali Army, representative of government and non-government organizations, media persons, all ranks of Nepali Army and enthusiastic sports lovers.
