M-28 Skytruck Handover Ceremony

The United States has officially handed over the two M-28 Skytrucks to Nepali Army on December 18, 2019. His Excellency Mr. Randy Berry, Ambassador of the U.S. to Nepal, handed over the miniature replica of Skytruck to Chief of General (CGS) Lieutenant General Sarad Giri during the official 'M-28 Handover Ceremony' organized at Mid Airbase, Gauchar Barrack. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa graced the handover ceremony as the chief guest.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Officiating Director General of Army Aviation Brigadier General Dhanendra Bahadur Shah delivered the welcome speech followed by the remarks from H.E. Mr. Berry. During his remarks, H.E. Mr. Berry expressed his strong belief that the arrival of the two Skytrucks will bring new capabilities to the Nepali Army and will also support Nepal's response to natural disasters on every landing strip in the nation, revolutionizing NA's abilities to respond in a quicker and better equipped manner.

Delivering his closing remarks, COAS Gen Thaha expressed his gratitude to the government of USA and US Embassy in Nepal for the continuous support.

Present in the Handover Ceremony were H.E Ambassador of the Government of Nepal to the United States of America (USA), Chief of Staff (CGS), General Officers of Nepali Army, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Defence, representative of US Embassy in Nepal, Media Personnel and Officers and Other Ranks of Nepali Army.
