COAS Gen Thapa Returns from Bangladesh

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa returned from People's Republic of Bangladesh on January 15, 2020. Chief of General Staff (CGS) Lt Gen Sarad Giri welcomed him at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). COAS Gen Thapa left for Bangladesh on January 12, 2020 after an official invitation from Chief of Army Staff (CAS) of Bangladesh Army, General Aziz Ahmed, BSP, BGBM, PBGM, BGBMS, psc, G.

After his arrival from Bangladesh, COAS Gen Thapa was accorded a Guard of Honor from a troop of Nepali Army at army headquarters. Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, General Officers of NA and residential Defense Attaches were present during the occasion.

During his stay in Bangladesh, COAS Gen Thapa paid a courtesy call on Right Honourable President of Bangladesh and General Aziz Ahmed, Chief of Army Staff (CAS) of Bangladesh Army in separate meetings. Continuing high visit, COAS Gen Thapa also met high level military officials of Bangladesh Army. COAS Gen Thapa also visited various military formations and installations while in Bangladesh.
