The Graduation Ceremony of the S.N. 26 Command and Staff Course was held at the Army Command and Staff College (ACSC), Shivapuri on February 25, 2020. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa graced the occasion as the chief guest.
A total of 63 officers including 50 officers from Nepali Army (NA), 10 international officers (One each from Bangladesh, China, India, Lebanon, Maldives, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Korea, Sri Lanka and USA), one each officer from Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and National Investigation Department graduated successfully.
The Chief Guest, COAS General Thapa awarded the Graduation Certificates and psc badge to the student officers. Major Chitra Kumar Karki bagged the “Best Student Officer" award while Maj Rabindra Thapa grabbed the 'Best Student Officer in Master's Degree. The Command and Staff Collage is accredited to the Tribhuvan University and all officers who fulfil the required criteria are awarded with a Master Degree in Strategic Studies (MSS). Vice Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Dharma Kanta Banskota gave away the certificates of Master’s Degree to the graduates. Major Rabindra Thapa and Madhav Khadka jointly bagged the 'Best Commandant's Paper' award.
COAS General Thapa highlighted the importance, necessity, relevancy and effectiveness of the training while delivering his key note remark. He also congratulated the graduating student officers and thanked the commandant, administrative staff and the faculty of the ACSC.
Commandant of Army Command and Staff College, Major General Ishwor Hamal delivered the welcome speech and congratulated the graduating student officers. He also thanked all the stakeholders involved in conducting the course successfully.
In between the ceremony, COAS General Thapa unveiled the 21st volume of 'The Shivapuri', the annual journal of ACSC.
Present at the graduation ceremony were Defence Secretary, General Officers of NA, Inspector General of Armed Police Force, former Commandant of ACSC, Professors, officers of NA, Media Personnel and spouses of graduating officers among others.
