NA Hands Over INSAS Rifle to APF

The Nepali Army has handed over six hundred INSAS (Indian Small Arms System) rifles to the Armed Police Force (APF), Nepal, during a ceremony held at the Nepali Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali on July 29, 2020.

As per the decision of the Council of Ministers dated June 29, 2020, the Nepali Army has handed over the 5.56 mm calibre rifles to Armed Police Force, Nepal on No Cost Basis. Furthermore, the Nepali Army will also provide maintenance and operational training to the APF, Nepal. An agreement has already been made between the Nepali Army and the Armed Police Force, Nepal to provide maintenance and operational training, including the transfer of weapons and equipment. Major General Rajendra Karki, Director General of Military Operations, Nepali Army and Additional Inspector General (AIG) Ram Saran Poudel, Armed Police Force, Nepal has signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the same.
