The “Short Film Competition -2076” organized by the Nepali Army (NA) concluded amid a special function organized at the Army auditorium, Bhadrakali today.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa gave away cash prizes and certificates of appreciation to the participants and winners. Prasun Sindhuliya's "Desh lai Chhune Paila" was adjudged to be the best film of the competition. Similarly, "Ragat" of Purushhotam Basnet and "Lakshya" of Basanta Sharma Adhikari were declared first runner up and second runner up respectively. The winners were awarded with a cash prize of NRs 2,00,000/- NRs 1,50,000/- and NRs 1,00,000/- respectively. Likewise, "Samarpan" of Aniruddha Duwadi and "Gaurav" of Anil Kumar Maharjan bagged consolation prizes of NRs 25,000/- each.
COAS Gen Thapa also commended the jury members of the competition with certificates and memento.
Initially, a total of 38 participants submitted their title and script for being enrolled in the competition among which ten best scripts were selected for the second stage of competition. Out of the ten short films that were made, five were nominated from the initial screening. The best five were again evaluated by the jury to select the top three.
High ranking officials of the Nepali Army, jury members, and participants of the film competition among others were present during the ceremony.
