The Serial
Number 8 'Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC-8)' concluded amid a special
closing ceremony held at Sagarmatha Hall, Army Headquarters on January 22,
2021. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Purna Chandra Thapa graced the
closing ceremony as the chief guest and formally concluded the course. The
three-month course that commenced on September 27, 2020 was attended by 30
student officers of the Nepali Army in the ranks of Colonel, at Nepali Army War
College, Nagarkot.
Colonel Narayan Bahadur Thapa received the "Best Student
Award", certificate and cash prize. Likewise, Colonel Prakash Bahadur
Chand received a cash prize and certificate for the best Academic Writing.
Addressing the closing ceremony, COAS Gen Thapa congratulated all
student officers and thanked the chief instructor, the commandant, directing
staffs and faculty members among others for all the hard work they put in. He
also reiterated his gratitude to the various subject matter experts, who have
added much value to the course.
Chief Instructor (CI) of the course, Major General Gokul Bhandaree
delivered the welcome speech at the beginning of the ceremony.
General officers of Nepali Army and faculty members were present
at the programme.
