1. His Excellency Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, conferred the Honorary Rank of General of the Indian Army on General Prabhu Ram Sharma, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Nepali Army, during an investiture ceremony held at Rastrapati Bhavan on 10th Nov, 2021. COAS General Sharma was presented with a sword, insignia and a certificate of conferment order by the President during the ceremony. 

2. The Nepali and the Indian armies traditionally honor each other's chiefs by conferring on the honorary rank of General, given the close military ties shared by the two neighbors.
