COAS General Sharma Returns from India

    General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Chief of the Army Staff, Nepali Army, returned home today after concluding a successful four-day official visit to India. Vice COAS Lt Gen Bal Krishna Karki welcomed him at the Nepali Army Mid-Air base, Gauchar.

    COAS General Sharma had departed for Delhi on 9th November at the official invitation extended by General MM Naravane, COAS Indian Army. General Sharma was conferred upon the rank of an honorary General of the Indian Army by HE Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, on 10th Nov, 2021 amidst an investiture ceremony. 

    During his stay in India, COAS General Sharma held meetings with Chief of the Army Staff Gen MM Naravane, Secretary of Defence Mr Ajay Kumar and Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary on 9th Nov, 2021 and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat on 10th Nov, 2021.

    He also paid courtesy calls on Hon Minister of Defence Mr. Rajnath Singh, Hon Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval on 11th Nov, 2021.

    During the course of his visit, he also visited National Defense College in New Delhi where he was inducted into the College “Wall of Honor”.  He graduated from the college in 2013.

    Nepali Army firmly believes that such high level visits will help to further cement the friendship and improve prospects for future defense cooperation between the two armies and the two countries.
