The Serial Number 10 'Higher Command and Management Course (HCMC-10)' concluded amid a special closing ceremony held at Army Headquarters, Kathmandu on December 31, 2022. COAS General Prabhu Ram Sharma graced the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. The three-month course that started on August 29, 2021 was attended by 35 student officers of the Nepali Army in the ranks of Colonel, at Nepali Army War College, Nagarkot.
COAS Gen Sharma awarded the "Best Student Award", certificate and cash prize to Colonel Suraj Gurung, who stood first in the course. Likewise, Colonel Bimal Kumar Basnet received certificate and cash prize for the Best Individual Research Paper.
Addressing the student officers, COAS General Sharma congratulated all the trainee officers for the successful completion of the course and believed that the training would play an important role in the development of capable, effective and future oriented leadership. He also expressed his confidence that the training would enable the students to become leaders, planners and advisors at strategic and operational level.
Major General Sanjaya Thapa, Chief Instructor (CI) of the course, delivered the welcome speech and briefed on the training at the beginning of the ceremony.
HCMC is the highest level of training conducted in the Nepali Army. A total of 272 officers, including nine female officers, have already been trained in the Nepali Army War College since the first series of HCMC started in 2014.
