Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Prabhu Ram Sharma unveiled the "Unity Journal" Volume III amid a ceremony held at Nepali Army (NA) auditorium on February 27, 2022.
On the occasion, COAS General Sharma awarded cash prizes and certificates to the best articles of “Unity Journal″ Volume III. Manish Jung Pulami's 'Discursive Analysis of Yam Theory: Mapping King Prithvi Narayan Shah's Essence to Contemporary Geopolitics'bagged the first prize of cash NRs 2,00,000. Likewise, Biranchi Poudyal's 'Why Nepal Matters in Geopolitical Chessboard' received NRs. 1,50,000 and Suman DC's 'Artificial intelligence in sport: an ethical issue' received NRs 1,00,000 for being second & third respectively. Likewise, COAS General Sharma awarded the certificates, token of appreciation and a cash prize to each of the 27 articles published in the journal. Furthermore, COAS General Sharma also felicitated the editorial board and jury members with certificates and tokens of appreciation for their hard work in making the journal a success.
This research-based annual publication of the Nepali Army includes 30 selected articles in Nepali and English covering predetermined seven areas i.e, nationalism and national unity; national security and development; civil-military relations; geostrategic importance of Nepal; evolving dimensions of security; military diplomacy; sports and technology.
The ceremony started with a welcome speech by Major General Sitaram Khadka, Director General, DGMT.
Present on the occasion were President of Nepali Army Wives Association (NAWA), Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Former Chiefs of Army Staff of Nepali Army, Secretary of Defense, Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), Assistant Chief of Army Staff (ACOAS), Heads of Nepal Police and Nepal Armed Police, Professors, General Officers and Officers of NA, Participants and Media Personnel.
