First Rifle Battalion (28th NEPBATT), currently serving under the Blue Helmet in MONUSCO, the Democratic Republic of Congo has been conferred with the recognition ‘UNIT CITATION’ by Force Commander Lt. Gen. Marcos De Sa Affonso Da Costa for the exemplary performance of NEPBATT in restoring peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During an inspection visit of the unit in Ituri Province, Force Commander has conferred the citation on October 11, 2022.

While presenting the UNIT CITATION, the force commander appreciated the outstanding and commendable performance and praiseworthy contribution of Nepali Peacekeepers for the execution of mission mandates including the protection of civilians in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He also expressed his contentment while awarding the recognition to Nepali peacekeepers for performing assigned duties and responsibilities extraordinarily without any caveats.
