Nepali Army Celebrated "UN Day-2022" Organizing Various Programs and Seminar

Nepali Army Celebrated

Marking the establishment of the United Nations, Nepali Army organized two days celebration including special programs and an international seminar at Army Headquarters, Bhadrakali.

With the theme "Solidarity for International Peace and Stability", a special program was organized on October 22, 2022. The event started with the welcome speech of ACOAS Lt Gen Saroj Pratap Rana and was followed by march past by the participants of all three security forces. Tableau representing cultural diversity of Nepal, Aikido demonstration, Zumba display and band display by the Nepali Army were the major attractions of the program. Students from Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalayas and cadets of the National Cadet Corps also participated in the cultural program.

On October 23, an international seminar on “Emerging Capability Requirements in UN Peace Operations and Way Forward” was organized at Army HQs in commemorating the participation and contribution of Nepal and the Nepali Army in world peace. The seminar aimed to enhance the capacity of the Nepali Army peacekeeping force in the future.

Mr. Shanker Das Bairagi, Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal was chief guest of the seminar. The "Coffee Table Book" depicting the contributions and achievements of the Nepali Army in establishing world peace, was jointly unveiled by the Chief of Army Staff General Prabhu Ram Sharma and special guest General Birame Diop, Military Adviser, Office of Military Affairs of the United Nations Headquarters.
