The Graduation Ceremony of the S.N. 29 Command and Staff Course was held at the Army Command and Staff College (ACSC), Shivapuri on February 24, 2023. The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Prabhu Ram Sharma graced the occasion as the chief guest.
A total of 92 officers including 77 male officers and 3 female officers from the Nepali Army, 9 officers from friendly foreign nations (one each from Sri Lanka, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, India, Maldives, United States of America), one officer each from Armed Police Force Nepal, Nepal Police and National Investigation Department graduated successfully.
The chief guest, COAS General Sharma awarded the Graduation Certificates and PSC (Passed Staff College) certificates to the student officers. Likewise, Vice-Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Shiva Lal Bhushal gave away the certificates of Master’s in Strategic Studies (MSS) to the graduates. The Command and Staff College is accredited by the Tribhuvan University and "the officers who fulfill the required criteria are awarded a Degree in MSS. Major Ujjwal Gotame bagged the overall “Best Student Officer" award while Major Rabin Gurung bagged the "Best Student Officer in Master's Degree". Major Bikram Khadka bagged the 'Best Commandant's Paper award.
COAS General Sharma, during his keynote remark, congratulated the graduating officers and highlighted the importance, necessity, relevancy and effectiveness of the training. He instructed the student officers to best utilize the knowledge and experience gathered during the course and to use that knowledge/ experience for excellence, subsequently taking responsibility to mentor the future leaders and groom them. He also thanked the commandant, administrative staff and the faculty of the ACSC. During the ceremony, COAS General Sharma also unveiled the 24th volume of 'The Shivapuri', the annual journal of the college.
Commandant of Army Command and Staff College, Major General Santosh Kumar Dhakal delivered the welcome speech and congratulated the graduating student officers. He also thanked all the stakeholders involved in conducting the course successfully.
Present at the graduation ceremony were VCOAS, ACOAS, heads of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force Nepal, and National Investigation Department, dignitaries associated with various institutions related to the educational activities of the college, former commandant of the college, generals & officers of Nepali Army, student officers and families of the trainee officers.
