Free Snake-Bite Treatment by Nepalese Army 18 August 2010

1. The Nepalese Army (NA) has been carrying out free Snake-bite treatment at its treatment centres established at barrack premises in Terai region, aiming at reducing human losses. 2. The NA has established such treatment centres at nine places namely Char-Aali, Itahari, Letang, Chauharwa & Bandipur, Nawalpur, Parasi, Gorusinghe & Buthaniya of Jhapa ,Sunsari, Morang, Siraha, Sarlahi, Nawalparasi and Kapilbastu districts respectively. 3. The treatment centres are not only providing free treatment to the local and the people from neighbouring districts but also proved beneficial for the victim of Snake-bites from India as well. These treatment centres have provided treatment to 1,088 personnel within 5 months period (Mar/Apr – July/Aug, 2010).
