The Chinese delegation holds meetings

A seven member delegation led by Maj. Gen. Jia Xiaoning of the Peoples' Republic of China (PRC) met with the Acting Chief of the Army Staff Maj. Gen. Toran Jung Bahadur Singh on 16 December at the Army HQ. In another program, the visiting delegation also met with a team of Nepalese delegates with Maj. Gen. Gaurav Shumsher J.B Rana, DGMO, as the coordinator. Both parties discussed on issues including aid to NA from PRC army in the past, methods to enhance the relationship between the two armies, bilateral capability enhancement and cooperation. During the meeting an agreement to provide military aid worth 28 million Yuan to NA within 5 years was signed by Maj. Gen. Jia Xiaoning and Maj. Gen Gaurav Shumsher J.B Rana. China is to provide engineering materials worth the amount mentioned in the agreement. By the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal a team of seven delegates was formed with Maj Gen. Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana as the Coordinator.
