Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences (NAIHS) Building's Foundation Stone Laid

The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung laid the foundation stone of the Basic Science Block of NAIHS on 18th Nov 2010. The building is being built at Bhandarkhal, Kathmandu. The institute is going to be run by the Nepalese Army Welfare Fund, for which the Letter of Intent was received from the Ministry of Education on 12th Oct 2010. Medicine, Nursing, Dental Surgery and Medical Polytechnic colleges will be conducted in the institute. The under construction four storied Basic Science Block will include eight departments. For the time being, the building is being constructed to accommodate 100 students. Also, in each department there will be separate laboratories. Similarly, a museum and an administrative building will also be constructed in the institute premises. The NAIHS aims at conducting post graduate level studies of MBBS, Nursing, Dental & Polytechnic for the Nepalese and foreign students. In the near future the college is scheduled to run Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) Nursing from Aug/Sept 2011 and MBBS course from Oct/Nov 2011.
